The Valley of fire in epic day trip on your next trip to Las Vegas…

After a short drive to this park, you will be in awe of the colors, the rock formations, the animals, and the fabulous hikes it offers.

Here’s a description of the park on the official website:

Valley of Fire consists of bright red Aztec sandstone outcrops nestled in gray and tan limestone mountains. The sandstone is from the Jurassic period and is the remnant of the sand left behind by the wind after inland seas subsided and the land rose. Early man moved into southern Nevada as far back as 11,000 years ago. The most obvious evidence of occupation is the petroglyphs carved into the rocks by the Basketmaker culture about 2,500 years ago, followed later by the Early Pueblo culture. Paiutes were living in this area in 1865 when Mormons settled at nearby St. Thomas at the south end of the Moapa Valley. Farming, ranching and mining occurred in the region along a narrow stretch of water.

One tip: If you plan to camp there for the night (which is a must-do when visiting the “valley of Fire” because the campsites are picturesque to say the least, I recommend showing up at Sunrise, find a campsite and pay for it and then visit the park because there aren’t many options and only a few sites to choose from, but you will absolutely love spending the night there and be able to enjoy the incredible sunset while perched on a rock over the red sand.

Maternity Photoshoot in the Southwest

It’s always such a pleasure to photograph friends and clients around the world and capture some of the milestone moments of their lives.

2020 has definitely been a rollercoaster of emotions and surprises, and I am so grateful that I not only got to marry the most wonderful and attentive woman I ever met, but I am also celebrating the upcoming arrival of my first child and the beginning of a new chapter in my life…

Since we are doing our best to remain healthy during these dire times, we avoided friends and families during the thanksgiving weekend and drove around the Southwest for a few days, stopping at incredible landmarks along the way, such as Sedona (AZ), Monument Valley (UT), Valley of Fire (NV) and Joshua Tree (CA)… We avoided hotels and restaurants by sleeping in a minivan and cooked on a camping stove on the side of the road, and we were lucky enough to be able to gaze at the stars through the moonroof of the car while trying to stay warm in the autumnal nights of the high deserts.

We took in the beauty of the nature surrounding us, we hiked a bit and laughed a lot, we shared stories and wandered around, we drove for hours yet it always felt like home, we were inspired again and hopeful for the future, and we captured each moment on camera to show our kid in the future.

I was so ecstatic that the dazzling landscapes and the gorgeous weather ended up being the perfect backgrounds to shoot my radiant partner in crime, and I am so delighted to share some of my favorite shots with you.

And of course…. I can’t wait to be a daddy! ;)

Les ânes en culotte de l'île de Ré

On our visit to l'île de Ré, a picturesque island near La Rochelle, we encountered these beautiful creatures along the road. They are a landmark of the island and are surprisingly friendly. Every souvenir on the island includes some kind of picture or illustration of these famous donkeys and I had fun capturing their incredible beauty

A few days in Lisbon

During my visit in Lisbon I had the chance to explore this colorful mix of ancient and modern architecture and stroll through the streets of this enchanting place. Everywhere you turn, local treats are inviting you to indulge and you won’t regret trying the Pastels de nata or the intoxicating Ginjinha (the local cherry liquor) and savor all the variations of dishes made with codfish (bacalhau).

Taking the old trams to get to your next destination is a must-do while in Lisbon, and we witnessed people dancing in the streets while drinking Sangria during a sunset and drank cheap beer surrounded by locals who seemed to enjoy the city as much as we did.

It was a trip to remember and I wish I had captured more of this beautiful place, but I did manage to take a few shots.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Welcome to the new and improved BeusPhotography Website. 

Going through the years of pictures on my numerous hard drives to present you this new website was a long and strenuous process but it brought back a lot of amazing memories.

The amazing trips around the world in the search of the perfect shot, the festive events I was invited to capture, the beautiful families posing for a priceless family portrait, the couples in love who trusted me to shoot their weddings, and all the people I met along the way are all reasons why I love photography so much

Along the way I also learned to appreciate underwater photography a lot more. It brings out new challenges and requires a lot of patience but I have enjoyed it tremendously and I hope to add much more underwater work in the future.
